After our first day in Paris we absolutely hated it. We were tired from the early train ride, the metro tickets were confusing, the farmers market food was expensive, people weren’t all that friendly, and the language was a sharp contrast we were completely underprepared for. It was horrible. After spilling salad all over my lab and crying in front of the Eiffel Tower we considered it a crappy day and a crappy city.
After a good nights sleep, we woke up and felt completely different. We bough a fresh baguette, a spinach quiche, and headed out to see some sights. It was already going to be a better day! In the few days we were there we went to the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc De Triomphe, the Palace of Versaille, and plenty more. Sure we got kicked out of a few restaurants because we weren’t going to order “enough” food (we’re on a serious budget, give us a break), and it was hard to get a long with the limited amount of French we knew, but our host was really nice, the food was delicious, the sights were amazing, and the feeling of the city was charming.
